Yesterday, Club Nintendo American site went under maintenance right after releasing the Elite Status Gifts for the Gold and Platinum members. Now don’t get your hopes ups just yet, basically, the bad news is: all the rewards are eShop games, the good news is: they’re actually pretty good games, except it’s a bummer if you already have them all…

I know it’s probably Nintendo of America’s way of saving money, but I was expecting real prizes as well. On the flip side though, they’re letting you get really good games like Dillon’s Rolling Western, Dr. Luigi,  Earth Bound, and EVEN some games that are already available at retail, like Game & Wario and Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D!

But to be honest, I was really disappointed in Club Nintendo. And I’m actually glad I didn’t make it to Gold status this year. Only because I would NOT have been able to get a new 2015 calendar. Which really stinks because next year’s the Year of Marty McFly, and well…

I’ll see you later, guys.

P.S. Don’t forget to click the link above, that’s where you’ll find a full list of the available games for this year.

Not one, not two, but THREE new challengers had been announced this morning! If you haven’t seen the video yet, watch it NOW!

Super Smash Bros. Revealing New ‘Challenger Approaching’ Next Week!

Today, the Super Smash Bros. Facebook page announced that “[a] new challenger will be revealed next week…”

Photo: A new challenger will be revealed next week, but instead of unveiling on something like a Nintendo Direct we're going to live-stream the 3 minute reveal on the official website at the following times:

North America: Monday 14th July at 07:00 (PDT)
UK: Monday 14th July at 15:00 (BST)
AUS: Tuesday 15th July at 00:00 (AEST)

Website: http://www.smashbros.com

Instead of having another Nintendo Direct special, SmashBros.com will be hosting a live stream video that’ll be approximately 3 minutes long. The live stream will be airing next week on July 14th in North America at 7:00am PDT, the UK at 3:00pm BST/4:00pm CEST, and on July 15th in Australia at Midnight AEST.

I’ll see you later!

Nintendo to Host Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS Tournament at San Diego Comic Con!

image

Just today, Nintendo announced that they will be hosting a new tournament to promote Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS at the San Diego Comic Con! Fans will be able to participate in the tournament on July 25th at the Nintendo Gaming Lounge in the Marriot Marquis & Marina near the San Diego Convention Center (where Comic Con will be held).

"Starting at noon, there will be a preliminary round in which groups of four competitors battle it out, with the winner advancing. During the finals, players will duke it out one-on-one to determine the top smasher. Tournament slots are limited, and fans will be able to sign up the day of the event on a first-come, first-served basis."

If you’re unfortunately not attending Comic Con you can always watch the tournament on Twitch.tv. (Which is convenient for you social networking dudes…)

I’ll see ya later!

Pokemon US National Chapionships Start Today; Play Nintendo Tour Continues in Bloomington, MN

Two cool things are happening today in the world of Nintendo.

First, the Pokémon US National Championships will begin today at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis, Indiana. Fans from all over the country will compete to be the very best at the Pokémon video games and trading card games. Video game players will be using Pokémon X and Y throughout the Championships which will end on July 6th. And there will be live streem footage on Twitch.tv. Also, you can find more information on the Championships on Pokémon.com.

And the Play Nintendo tour will continue on until September 1st. But first, today they’ll stop at the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota. I forgot to mention this tour because it started the week before E3, and I was focusing more on that coverage. I’m sorry if I didn’t talk about it before.

But those are the festivities Nintendo’s having for the Fourth of July!

So I’ll see you later!
